People of the Abyss

“The People of the Abyss” is a book written by Jack London in 1903 concerning Victorian London and her people. The book discusses the poor living conditions of the lower class, and what struggles they had to endure. He traveled through London, and saw first hand, the slum and degrading life of the lower class. The difficulties they had to endure include where to sleep, what to eat, the chance of disease, obtaining a job, and the way they were treated by the upper class. London was in shock and amazement of what he saw. He could not believe how these people were being treated and how they managed to live in such poor conditiond
