The Victorial Era
The victorian era occured during the reign of Queen Victoria, and lasted between 1837-1901. During this time period, the industrial revolution occured. Due to this revolution, the structure of the social class was changed, and hostility occured between upper and lower classes. Disease and illness were common, and people of the lower class were treated badly. Prostitution was extremely common, and become a norm on the streets. During this era, people began to see prostitution as wrong. Clothing, architecture, furniture, homes, and the general social appearance of people became extravagant and ornate. The social classes were determined by the material objects they possessed, and how extravagant they presented themselves.
